 Aerospace Testing Alliance (ATA) is the contractor for the operations, maintenance, information management and support of the Arnold Engineering Development Center (AEDC). AEDC is the most advanced and largest complex of flight simulation test facilities in the world and is located at Arnold Air Force Base, Tennessee, in Coffee and Franklin Counties. The 4,000 acres that comprise AEDC are part of the 40,000 acres of Arnold Air Force Base. Dedicated June 25, 1951, by President Harry Truman, AEDC has tested virtually every high performance aerospace system the Department of Defense has used since.  ATA operates 58 aerospace test facilities to include aerodynamic and propulsion wind tunnel, rocket and turbine engine test cells, space environmental chambers, arc heaters, and ballistic ranges that can simulate virtually every aspect of flight from ground level to deep space. Engineer/Scientist (Safety Professional), Job Number 3431

B.S. degree in related engineering or scientific discipline. Job duties include providing safety consultation, compliance inspection, and technical expertise in support of aerodynamic and aeropropulsion research, support, and testing at AEDC. Plans or assists in planning safety requirements, writes safety standards, performs programmatic and industrial compliance inspections and audits, evaluates safety-related concerns, conducts incident investigations, presents safety training, and writes reports.

 

Engineer/Scientist Level 2, Job Number 3374

Position requires B.S. degree in Architecture plus two (2) years demonstrated technical ability as evidenced by prior architectural design and analysis experience.  Experience leading architectural design efforts, interfacing with customers, and adhering to cost and schedule limits is required.  Familiarity with applicable safety and building codes and standards is required. Provide architectural design and analysis functions for the Facility Systems Design Engineering section (ID31). Provide design expertise for projects including building construction and renovation, roofing, assessment of building condition, space utilization, and LEED design concepts. Function as part of design team on several projects concurrently, setting priorities to manage and meet required dates.

 

Engineer/Scientist Level 3, Job Number 3400

Position requires B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited engineering school plus three (3) years civil/structural engineering experience. Knowledge of MS Office software applications and electronic mail is required; familiarity with CSI format specifications and AutoCAD products is a plus. Provide civil and structural design and analysis functions for the Civil Design Engineering section (ID31). Perform design engineering tasks with limited direction of an experienced engineer. Provide civil design for projects in a variety of civil engineering areas including paving, railroads, roofs, bridge, and dam systems. Provide structural design for steel and concrete buildings and miscellancous structures including foundations for column loads or equipment, ladders, platforms, stairs, floor and roof framing plans and details, etc. Provide structural analyses for existing structures including crane supports, bridges, columns, floor loading capacities, etc.

 

Power Switchboard Operator (Electrical), Job Number 3268 – Hourly Rate = $27.92

Position requires 4 years of progressive experience in making complex switching operations of electrical distribution systems. A thorough knowledge of complex electrical controls, switching, and substation equipment is required. Performs switching operations and operates all equipment in 161 KV and 13.8 KV substations and at other points of distribution system as may be required to maintain or change power flow.
